Jun 12, 2024
Recently, JCB announced the official groundbreaking and construction of a new North American factory with an investment of $500 million, which is the largest investment project in JCB Group's history. JCB is the world's largest family owned manufacturer of construction, agriculture, and defense equipment. JCB North America currently has over 1000 employees and is headquartered in Savannah, Georgia. The North American company also has branches in Dallas, Texas, Santa Monica, California, Miami, Florida, and other locations.
This is JCB's second factory in North America, covering an area of 400 acres with a construction area of 670000 square meters and a total investment of 500 million US dollars. After completion, it will become JCB's second largest factory globally, second only to its global headquarters located in the UK. The factory plans to start production in 2026, producing JCB telescopic forklifts, high-altitude work platforms, and expanding to other product lines, bringing over 1500 job opportunities to the local area.
In 1964, JCB sold its first equipment in North America and opened its first manufacturing plant in Savannah, Georgia in 2001. With over 1000 employees, the new factory will primarily provide mechanical equipment to customers in North America.
JCB has 19000 employees and 22 factories worldwide. Among them, 11 are in the UK, 7 are in India, and the other factories are located in the United States, Brazil, and China. JCB will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the group's establishment in 2025.
